The Congo Appeal aims to raise global awareness of the reality of poverty and hardship for many residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and to empower people to become economically self-sufficient through education and sustainable projects.

Current projects aim to:

• Provide educational materials to schools and enabling more students to partake in education.
  
  
• Create and support small business initiatives within communities to (defeat) resolve poverty and promote self-sufficiency.
  
  
• Collect, ship and distribute used or second/excess items from Australia to the Congo to support current projects.
  
  
• Develop links with Australia to help build a future for those affected by war, particularly children, street kids and women refugees.
